Statement by EHRI about Academic Freedom

12/02/2021

The European Holocaust Research Infrastructure (EHRI), a consortium of 25 partners in Europe and beyond, contributes to the study and memory of the Holocaust by enhancing free access to what lies at their basis: the historical sources.

We express our grave concern over the recent attempts in Poland and elsewhere to limit the freedom of research, as well as our solidarity with Holocaust scholars Barbara Engelking (Poland) and Jan Grabowski (Canada).

EHRI Survey | Please Give Us Your Opinion on Our Services

21/01/2021

Over the years EHRI has developed a broad range of services which have been delivered to a growing number of users of different backgrounds and disciplines. These services include those accessible online such as the EHRI Portal, the Documents Blog, The Online Editions, and Online Courses. In addition, various training services have been provided, and include a Fellowship Programme, workshops, seminars and conferences.

As we prepare to transform the EHRI project into a permanent research infrastructure, we aim to assess whether the existing  EHRI services fulfill the current and future needs of EHRI’s user community. For this purpose, we have prepared a survey intended for current and potential future users of various EHRI services. The “EHRI Survey: User, Access and Training Strategies” has been prepared on an online platform through SurveyMonkey. The survey should take approximately 15-20 minutes to fill out.

Holocaust Memorial Day Events 2021

Partners | Holocaust Memorial Day 2021

18/01/2021

In 2005, the United Nations General Assembly designated 27 January as the International Day of Commemoration in memory of the victims of the Holocaust, the day upon which every year the world would mark and remember the Holocaust and its victims. On 27 January 1945, the Auschwitz-Birkenau extermination camp complex was liberated.

Holocaust Memorial Day or Holocaust Remembrance Day is worldwide marked by local, national and international events.

The majority of EHRI's partners also organise events on or around 27 January to commemorate the Holocaust, to learn and to never forget. Several of the events organised by our partners are listed below. Given the COVID-19 situation, most of them are online. This list is updated until 27 January.
