Tuesday, 10 January, 2017

Full-time, 1 year post based in Central London, WC1
Salary: £25,000
Responsible to: Archivist

The Wiener Library is the world’s oldest Holocaust archive and the home of Britain’s largest collection of published and unpublished works, documents and photographs relating to the Nazi era.  We are seeking a qualified Archivist to join the Collections Team on a one year contract starting in April 2017 to catalogue the Wiener Library’s own organisational archive.

The Wiener Library has generated its own archive since its foundation in 1933. The task for the Project Archivist is to catalogue and make accessible to the public those papers from within the Wiener Library Archive which have enduring historical value. In particular the focus will be on the Library’s early years, when it was known as the Jewish Central Information Office and its primary function was that of an information gathering/disseminating bureau, through to the transition in the post-war era to that of a research library/archive.

Closing date: 5.30pm on Friday 10 February 2017.
