Lecture by Laura Fontana from Mémorial de la Shoah, at the Instituto Italiano Cultura in Amsterdam, 27 January 2017

On the occassion of Holocaust Memorial Day, Laura Fontana will give a lecture at the Instituto Italiano Cultura in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Laura Fontana is the Head of the Italian Department of EHRI partner Mémorial de la Shoah since 2009. Since 2013, she has been the Scientific Coordinator of the Mémorial de la Shoah for EHRI, coordinated by NIOD Amsterdam. In this capacity, she is responsible for training seminars for European researchers.

In her lecture she discusses Holocaust remembrance and research in Italy and the Netherlands. Her lecture is titled "Italy and the memories of the Holocaust: the Auschwitz paradox. From the myth of innocence to a selective remembrance (in light of the memories of the Holocaust in the Netherlands)".
