Reto Speck
Reto Speck holds a BA (Contemporary History) and a MA (Intellectual History) from the University of Sussex, and a PhD from Queen Mary, University of London. His doctoral research was concerned with the development of the idea of philosophic history during the European Enlightenment, and particularly with the political and historical thought of Voltaire, Denis Diderot, Jean Jacques Rousseau and Johann Gottfried Herder.
Reto’s current research centres around the impact of digital research infrastructures on historical thought and on archival theory and practices. He is a Research Fellow at King’s College London and a Researcher at NIOD Institute of War, Holocaust and Genocide Studies, Amsterdam. For EHRI, he leads the development of the online portal and co-ordinates the project’s dissemination work.
