Stefanie Schüler-Springorum

Stefanie Schüler-Springorum was born in Hamburg, Germany. She has a Ph.D. from the University of Bochum in 1993. Since 2011 she is Director of the Center for Research on Antisemitism in Berlin.

In 2001 she was appointed Director of the Institute for the History of German Jews in Hamburg, which she ran for almost ten years. In 2007 she became a professor at the University of Hamburg. Stefanie Schüler-Springorum is a member of the Scientific Working Group of the Leo Baeck Institute since 2009, and chair since 1996. Since 2012, she represents the TU on the Executive Board of the Centre of Jewish Studies Berlin-Brandenburg. She is also a member of the following advisory boards: Topography of Terror Foundation; Brandenburg Memorial Foundation; Memorial and Educational Site House of the Wannsee Conference; Moses Mendelssohn Foundation; Simon Dubnow Institute for Jewish history and culture.

She is the author of Die jüdische Minderheit in Königsberg/Pr. 1871-1945 (1996); Krieg und Fliegen. Die Legion Condor im Spanischen Bürgerkrieg (2010); and co-editor with K. Heinsohn of Deutsch-jüdische Geschichte als Geschlechtergeschichte. Studien zum 19. und 20. Jahrhundert (2005).
