Alessandro Matta
Alessandro Matta (Cagliari, 1983) is Director and founder of the Association Memorial of the Shoah in Sardinia, Cagliari. Historical researcher specialized in the history of the small Jewish presence of Sardinia in the years of the Fascist persecution against the Jews between and the Holocaust years (1938-1945) and also in the cinematography of the Holocaust and the representation of the Holocaust in mass-media, he’s publishing for Giuntina editore a book about the history of the Jews of Sardinia (or to Sardinia connected) during the Holocaust years.
Author of the book “the Jews of Sardegna in the Anti-jewish legistlation and Holocaust years” edited by Giuntina in 2024.
Member of the task force of the study of the Holocaust and against the denial of the Holocaust in Wikipedia (he writes, follows and corrects the Wikipedia voices concerning the Holocaust and the Jewish history).
Graduated in Yad Vashem seminars and Mémorial de la Shoah of Paris seminars, but also in several other seminars and specialization courses about the Holocaust with other important institutions (Yahad – in Unum association, Elie Wiesel Institute of Bucharest…) and qualified in Post-lauream university advanced course of Holocaust education in Florence University directed by Prof. Silvia Guetta, in which from this year is also one of the teachers with a lesson about the Holocaust education using the cinematography and audiovisual instruments, he wrote also several articles about his two specialization arguments in several newspapers and also in some academic reviews (the last one, an article about the representation of the Holocaust in GDR cinema for the collective volume “Ecrire la Shoah, trauma et rapresentation” under the supervision of Prof. Monica Gariou of Tennesse University and Prof. Ana Maria Ernesti of Oregon State University).
