EHRI Fellow Daniela Ozacky Stern

Daniela Ozacky-Stern is a scholar of the Holocaust and World War II. She earned her Ph.D. from the Faculty of Jewish History at The University of Haifa, Israel, studying the Jewish partisans in the forests of Lithuania and Belarus during the Holocaust.

Her master's degree is from The School of History at Tel Aviv University. Her research dealt with Nazi propaganda led by Joseph Goebbels during the last year of WWII. This was published in a book entitled Goebbels: Nazi Master of Illusion (2022).

Ozacky-Stern is a fellow-researcher at the Finkler Institute of Holocaust Research at Bar-Ilan University, Israel, and teaches at The Holocaust Studies Program at The Western Galilee College, in Acre, Israel. Prior to that she was the director of Moreshet Holocaust Archive in Givat Haviva for over ten years.

Her post-doctoral research at Yad Vashem deals with Jews’ escape to the forests during the Holocaust, and she published various academic articles on topics related to the Vilna Ghetto, Jewish partisans in Lithuania and in Slovakia, some of them based on newly exposed archival documents. She has also written several book reviews on issues connected to the Holocaust and has participated in numerous workshops and conferences worldwide.
